The first weekend of the Gabe Savaglio Memorial Youth-Adult Scholarship started out with a bang. Leading the way for the youth during Saturday’s competition was Jacob Boresch. In his first game a stubborn 10 pin on the final shot denied him a perfect game. Boresch followed up the 299 game with a pair of 236 games for a 771 series. Also rolling 700 on Saturday was Boresch's teammate Joe Meier with a 729 series, Ryan Zagar 707 and Josh Feekes 701. For the adults, Tim Lewis shot a stellar 835 series on games of 300, 245 and 290 followed by Andrew Lovely with a 818 series on games of 244, 295 and 279.
During Sunday's squad two youth's topped 500 for the first time! James Booker rolled his first 200 game a 211 to highlight his 544 series. Bowling with his mother Jane Shinske their 1096 handicap score is sitting on top of Division two doubles. Danielle George rolled her first 500 series, a 508 highlighted by a high game of 194. Danielle teamed up with her dad Eric George to take the lead in Division one doubles with a 1487 handicap score.
Danielle and Eric teamed up with Marty and Ryan Tilot to take the lead in the team competition with a handicap score of 2928. Rounding out the top 5 were the teams of Meier-Boresch (2914), Zagar-Christensen (2863), Lewis-DeOcampo (2784), and Hedges-Hedges (2731).
