Billy Beckett II and Joe Arvai III took the title of the 25th Annual Kenosha Scratch Bowler’s Alliance (KSBA) Men’s Doubles tournament, sponsored by CJW-Miller Lite.

In its silver anniversary year, the tournament boasted a full field of 48 teams including multiple past-champion duos: defending champions Dave Sjuggerud and Jerry Streich of Kenosha (2008), Rich Larsen and Al Zeitz, Jr. of Racine (2007, 2003, 2001), Rich Beltoya & Ed Seliga of Kenosha (2006, 2005, 2004), and Dana Casey & Duane Murawski of Kenosha (1992). First place received $1,000 and the top 20 teams cashed.

Bowling kicked off at 6pm Friday and consisted of all teams bowling four games of qualifying. The field then cut to 20 for two games of match-play, then again to 10 for a second round of two-game matches.

Around 12am, the 1-game stepladder finals began with #5 Bryan Komornik (Chicago, IL) and Kevin Gmach (Sheboygan, WI) defeating #4 Sjuggerud and Streich 467-452. Komornik and Gmach then advanced to face #3 seed Beckett & Arvai (Racine, WI), and were defeated 458-426. Beckett and Arvai passed #3 seed Jimmy Capps (Kenosha, WI) and Scott Salinas (Racine, WI) 441-385 to meet #1 Matt Zagar (Racine, WI) and Jerry Riemer (Burlington, WI), defeating them 396-374.
